Young Artist Studio
An after-school art program for creative kids who want to draw, paint, and grow as artists.
An Atelier-Inspired Art Program for Young Adults
Most art classes teach children to follow step-by-step projects where everyone makes the same thing.
At Young Artist Studio, students learn something different:
How to think like an artist.
Each child receives individualized instruction based on their interests, confidence level, and creative goals — while building real foundational skills in drawing, painting, and visual storytelling.
This is a guided studio experience designed for children who want more than crafts — they want to create their own work.
This approach is rooted in the training of artist Lindsay Agnew, who began studying under a master oil painter at age six in an atelier-style environment focused on observation, technique, and individual artistic development. Today, Lindsay creates the same type of learning experience through Young Artist Studio.

Why Parents Choose This Program
Parents Come to us Because Their Child:
1.
Loves to draw, sketch, or create at home
2.
Gets bored in traditional “follow-along” art classes
3.
Wants more challenge and creative freedom
4.
Is interested in developing real artistic skills
5.
Thrives with individualized attention
This program bridges the gap between casual art activities
and serious art instruction — in a welcoming, age-appropriate environment.
How the Program Works
STEP 1
Creative Skills Assessment
Every student begins with a guided observational drawing (still life).
This is not a test — it’s a starting point.
It helps identify each child’s strengths in: Observation, Composition, Line quality, Shading & value, Creative confidence
From here, instruction is fully personalized.
STEP 2
Choose a Creative Path
Students then select a medium and direction based on what excites them most:
Drawing & Illustration, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor and Mixed Media & Experimental Art
They are encouraged to bring inspiration — photos, ideas, or subjects they love
— and we turn those ideas into finished artwork with guided instruction.
STEP 3
Studio-Based Learning
Students then select a medium and direction based on what excites them most:
Drawing & Illustration, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor and Mixed Media & Experimental Art
They are encouraged to bring inspiration — photos, ideas, or subjects they love
— and we turn those ideas into finished artwork with guided instruction.
Studio-Based Learning
Each 90-minute Session Blends
Skill instruction (technique building)
Guided creation (step-by-step support when needed)
Independent work (developing confidence and style)
One-on-one feedback and mentorship
Students are always working at their own level — not the class average.
What Your Child Will Learn
Over time, students build real artistic skills, including:
Drawing fundamentals (shape, proportion, value)
Color theory and paint mixing
Composition and visual storytelling
Medium exploration (acrylic, watercolor, mixed media)
Confidence in original creative expression
Most importantly, they begin developing their own artistic voice.
