Meet the Artist

Lindsay Agnew

Artist. Designer. Storyteller. Educator.

Lindsay Agnew is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, illustrator, author, and arts educator, and the founder of Studio Agnew—a working fine art studio and gallery in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Art has been a constant throughout Lindsay's life. She began studying oil painting at age six under the guidance of a master oil painter, developing an early foundation in traditional fine art that continues to influence her work today.

Her creative practice has grown across disciplines, including fine art, graphic design, illustration, environmental graphic design, visual storytelling, murals, and arts education. While the mediums and projects may change, the foundation remains the same: curiosity, observation, craftsmanship, and the desire to communicate through visual art.

Lindsay earned a BFA in Graphic + Interactive Communication from Ringling College of Art and Design and has more than 15 years of professional experience in the creative industry. Her career includes work with Walt Disney Imagineering in environmental graphic design, as well as serving as Creative Director for Panama Jack. Her professional experience has also included design and creative direction for e-commerce brands and a variety of visual storytelling projects.

A Multidisciplinary Creative Practice

Lindsay doesn't see art, design, illustration, and storytelling as separate worlds. They are different ways of solving problems, exploring ideas, communicating, and making something meaningful.

Her work includes original paintings and drawings, murals, illustration, fine art prints, children's books, and creative works made from found and repurposed materials. She enjoys moving between traditional and contemporary processes and is often drawn to unexpected materials, techniques, and ways of making.

She is the author and illustrator of Princess Anna and the Twinkling Jewels and Star's Imagination: A Creative Journey of Art and Stories, bringing together her love of illustration, storytelling, and design.

Art provides the foundation. Design brings structure and purpose. Storytelling gives ideas a voice.

Art, Design & Education

Lindsay's background in both fine art and professional design shapes the way she approaches her work as an educator.

Through Studio Agnew, she teaches drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, printmaking, mixed media, book arts, and other creative techniques. Her classes and workshops focus on developing real skills, understanding materials, exploring techniques, and learning how to see more carefully.

For Lindsay, teaching isn't simply about completing a project. It's about helping people understand the process behind the work and become more confident, curious, and capable creators.

Whether someone is picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to an art practice they've put aside for years, Lindsay believes there is always more to discover.

Studio Agnew is where Lindsay's creative practice comes together—a working fine art studio and gallery where she can make art, teach, experiment, develop new ideas, share original work, and continue growing as an artist.

It gives her the freedom to move between the roles that have shaped her career: artist, designer, storyteller, and educator.

Whether she is working on a painting, designing a mural, illustrating a book, preparing a class, developing a printmaking project, or experimenting with an unexpected material, Lindsay approaches each project with the same curiosity that has guided her from the beginning.

Art has always been the foundation. Design expanded the possibilities. Storytelling gave it a voice. Teaching created a way to share it. Studio Agnew brings it all together.
