I make things. A lot of things. No plans, no sketches—just me, my hands, and the ideas swirling in my head. That’s how I create, moving freely through each project, figuring things out as I go. It’s organic, playful, and endlessly exciting.
When I started my company, navigated the legal stuff of forming an LLC, and built my website, I knew I wanted a way to share who I am, what I do, and the journey behind my work. A blog had been on my to-do list for a while, but I worried I had nothing to share. I was wrong—it’s become an amazing creative outlet, and I’m often surprised by what I come up with. Artists use sketchbooks as a form of visual communication—to explore ideas, record inspiration, and experiment without limits. Sketchbook Stories became my way to share that process with others.
I’ve never been the type to sit and reflect or write in a journal; I’m always moving on to the next thing. I’m a “maker” at heart and love creating just about anything across all kinds of media.
Sketchbooks are the closest reflection of a creator’s inner world. They are visual notes, a place to explore ideas, feelings, and imagination. Many pages never see the light of day—some artists share them freely, while others keep them private. With Sketchbook Stories, I share my own creative process, stories, and insights with readers, fans, and anyone curious about creativity and imagination. It’s a way to communicate visually, tell stories, and document my journey as an artist.
Over the years, I’ve often heard things like, “How did you do that?” “You made that?” or, “I wish I had your creativity,” and, “I wish I had the time.” These comments inspired me to create a space where I could show how creativity really happens—honest, playful, and full of exploration.
Just the other day, I shared my blog with a mother whose daughter loves art and is exploring how to turn that creativity into a career. It reminded me of my own mother recognizing I was born an artist and nurturing that curiosity in me. Sketchbook Stories is, in many ways, my own version of that—a way to inspire others, share the joy of making, and spark creativity.
Every Wednesday, I share a page from my sketchbook across social media, my website, and email—your midweek spark of creativity awaits.
