From a Single Line to a Collective Spark

Announcing Art Programs by Studio Agnew — Where Curiosity Leads to Creation

We Were Born to Create

Art has the power to slow us down, shift our perspective, and bring people together. Before technique, before tools, before knowing “how” — there is curiosity. And curiosity is where creativity begins.

"Teaching someone how to truly see when creating art is something extraordinary."

Over the past two weeks, I’ve had the joy of guiding students through a shift in perspective — learning to notice shapes, forms, and relationships in objects by starting with something incredibly simple: a single, straight line. From that first mark, everything unfolds. Lines become forms, forms become objects, and confidence grows with each moment of discovery on the page, plus smiles on faces!

I’ve worked with students who had never picked up a pencil before — and within minutes, they were sketching, learning to shade, and realizing that drawing isn’t about perfection. It’s about observation, curiosity, and giving yourself permission to begin.

Curiosity-Driven Art Instruction

Teaching art isn’t about creating a “perfect” final piece — it’s about learning how to see. When you learn to see you can create.

This curiosity-driven approach invites students to slow down and observe before judging their work. By focusing on shapes, negative space, and structure, fear falls away and curiosity takes over. I’ve watched hesitation turn into excitement as students realize they can draw, can learn technique, and can enjoy the process.

When curiosity leads, creativity flows. Students gain confidence, build real skills, and begin expressing themselves in ways they didn’t think were possible.

Announcing: Art Programs by Studio Agnew

I’m so excited to officially announce Art Programs by Studio Agnew — thoughtfully designed art experiences that inspire creativity, confidence, and connection. This is something I have been quietly working on in 2025!

These on-site programs are available for communities and private groups of 10 or more and are led by me, with professional guidance and intentional instruction. Each session balances foundational technique with creative exploration, ensuring students feel supported while discovering their own artistic voice.

Art Programs Include:

  • Art Classes – Ongoing instruction in drawing, painting, and mixed media

  • Art Workshops – One-time, focused creative experiences

  • Custom Creative Sessions – Tailored programs for events, organizations, and special groups

  • Private & Corporate Creative Sessions – On-site art experiences that foster connection and creativity

Every program is intentionally structured to teach technique, build skills, and spark joy — whether it’s a first-time artist or someone returning to creativity after years away.

From the Beginning — and Why This Matters

My journey with art began early.

I started private oil painting lessons at age six with a master fine artist who had over 50+ years of painting experience. From her, I learned far more than technique — I learned patience, observation, and deep respect for the creative process. During high school, I became her apprentice, assisting with younger students, which sparked my passion for teaching and sharing art with others.

That foundation carried me through high school and into my formal art education at Ringling College of Art & Design, where I further developed my skills, discipline, and creative voice. I later brought that education into the professional world while working at Walt Disney Imagineering, where I used my graphic design degree to create environmental graphics and signage for the parks. There, I learned how storytelling, design, and environment come together to create meaningful, lasting memories.

The Value Behind the Program

Art Programs by Studio Agnew bring together fine art foundations, professional design thinking, and curiosity-driven instruction. These programs teach participants how to see, observe, and create with intention — not just follow steps.

Just like any piece of art, everything starts with a blank canvas — and so does a calendar. I’m intentionally filling mine with value, collaboration, and transforming spaces into opportunities for artistic learning and creative confidence for all ages.
